Collaboration
Collaboration is what a modern office is all about. With remote working easier than ever, the office itself is not necessarily a place for people go to to do individual work (this is sometimes better done in privacy at home, without the environmental impact of a commute and the disturbance of an open plan office), but a place to interact with colleagues and exchange ideas, information and learn. No one learns anything from anyone at home by themselves. Office Design and Office Furniture are increasingly looking to improve the collaborative opportunities within the workplace. In-between space, where individuals come together to meet informally, is taking a larger more prominent role in modern office design. Whereas before office space was predominantly task centric workstations, now we are seeing more teaming space, more touchdown areas, soft furnishings with power and data access, teleconferencing areas and coffee culture is driving the breakout area to heart beat of the office.
